It was in 2013 that Augustine Libin Peous found about the industry. Mr Francis Kunjipalu and Late Mr K T Joseph helped him in understanding more about this. Francis is still the project director at Fresh Cut.

The team researched and learned more about the various technologies involved and finalised in using rendering as the preferred technology. The team also built a mock plant from Pune with the help of Mr Darekar.

The team worked on improving the design and did a lot of research in adapting the system to the varied climatic conditions of Kerala.

Decided to build the first plant at Thanarassery to treat the entire poultry waste generated in Calicut district. Started the search for the best suited land parcel. The team also spend considerable amount of time in researching on the most suitable odour management systems, matching Kerala’s poultry waste materials.

Mr. Sujeesh Kolothody and Mr. Shibu T joined as partners and the team together incorporating shop keepers, government bodies and the collection system into a single ecosystem.

Mr. Ashok Mathai joined the team as the fourth Director. The team successfully secured the tender from Calicut Corporation, Jilla panchayath for 10 years for the collection and treatment of poultry slaughter house waste from the entire district. Shop keepers also offered unconditional support to make Calicut the first district in India to be proclaimed slaughter house waste free.

The first Fresh Cut plant starts operations at Erood, Ambayathodu, Thamarassery.
